THE FLASH BRINGS BACK FAN-FAVORITE VILLAIN
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for “Abra Kadabra,” the latest episode of “The Flash.”
Killer Frost is back! In “Abra Kadabra,” the latest episode of “The Flash,” Caitlin Snow suffered a life-threatening injury. In an effort to save her, Julian removed her necklace, which suppressed her powers and prevented her from becoming Killer Frost. Her powers returned when the necklace was removed and they did save her, but she became Killer Frost in the process.
In a confrontation with Abra Kadabra, the time travelling magician from the 64th century triggered an explosion. In the explosion, her abdomen was pierced with a pipe. However, she couldn’t go to the hospital, because her metahuman genes were recorded in Central City’s police database. This being the case, Julian had to operate on her to remove the shrapnel buried in the wound. Ultimately, he was successful, but there was another issue lurking just beneath the surface.
At the end of the episode, Caitlin began to seize. Julian wasn’t sure if it was because of a blood clot or other such complication, but his attempts to revive her were unsuccessful and she died on the table in front of him, Cisco and HR. Desperate, he removed her necklace, even though she said she’d rather die than become Killer Frost. His trick worked; her pulse returned, her wound healed and she began breathing again.
However, their joy was short-lived, as Killer Frost returned with force. She caused an icy explosion, which pushed the three Team Flash members across the room. She then emerged from a cloud of mist, complete with a full head of white hair and icy blue eyes.
Judging by the promo for “The Once and Future Flash,” the next episode, Killer Frost will stick around for a while. It isn’t clear just how much of the episode Barry will spend in the future, but some shots of her seem to suggest that she will stick around, at least for now.
Starring Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster, “The Flash” airs Tuesdays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Keiynan Lonsdale and more.
